The club was pleased to make its annual donation to the Rotary Foundation in December. The Rotary Foundation is Rotary's own charity. It exists to promote international peace and understanding and to relieve poverty where it can. It relies upon donations from Rotarians, the public and, where it can find them, sponsors. It is the only Rotary charity within the Rotary movement.

The Rotary Foundation has become one of the foremost non-governmental foundations with the educational support programme being the largest private scholarship endowment in the world.

It is said that every minute of every day Rotary will touch the lives of millions somewhere in the world.

This donation was funded by a proportion of Club members' subscription fees.
