Senior Citizens Trip to Llandudno

Seaside Coachtrip

Poynton & District Rotary Club took 2 coaches of Seniors from Poynton over to Llandudno, in North Wales on the 28th June 2017. In previous years one coach was funded and organised by the Rotary Club.

Poynton Rotary Club are very grateful to be awarded £550 by the Cheshire East Community Fund for a second coach following a successful bid on the 26th November. This enabled more elderly or infirm residents to benefit from a free day trip to the seaside.

The numbers were slightly reduced due the wet weather, but never-the-less we had a very good turn out. The comments received at the end were really positive. "We were so well looked after"   "Thank you for thinking of the old folk"   "It was a pleasure to be taken out by such a nice crowd of people"   "It was the companionship that made the day more enjoyable and did us a lot of good"   "we came home refreshed"    "very nice and enjoyable"

The Seniors and Carers came from:

Waitrose in Poynton kindly donated chocolates and bottled water for the journey.

This is a good example of the Poynton Rotary Club volunteers, Cheshire East and Waitrose providing support within the local community.

Llandudno wet

Llandudno is Wales's largest resort is uniquely situated between the Great and Little Ormes.

It has two wonderful beaches, the award winning North Shore and the quiet, sand duned West Shore.

Llandudno has kept its Victorian and Edwardian elegance and splendour, despite its modern attractions.
